DescriptionRed, white and green striped ribbon (the colors of the Italian flag) to which is attached a medal representing 85 years of the Order of Sons of Italy in America. This medal was for the branch in Connecticut. A central lion stands on a plinth with "LIBERTY EQUALITY / FRATERNITY". Imposed over the lion is the number 85 and on either side of the lion are the dates 1914 and 1999. The verso of the medal is blank. From the collection of Gennaro Capobianco who documented the Italian community in Hartford and was a member of the Sons of Italy.
