DescriptionA young man and a young woman are seated in the stern of a boat, rowed by a young man with long hair wearing a wreath of flowers and leaves, a shirt, a sash, and striped trousers. The other young man wears a coat and shirt. The woman wears a dress with a ruff and holds a bonnet trimmed with ribbons and flowers. A shawl trimmed with fringe is behind her. A dog sits between the couple and the oarsman; leaves and flowers decorate the boat. A flag flies from the stern. Swans and cygnets are in the water at the left. Trees, bushes, a small classical temple or summerhouse, and an open field with poplars framing a small house are in the background.
