DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a high, round neckline and a yoke, which across the front is covered with vertical tucks. The bottom of the yoke is edged with eyelet embroidery. The dress has a gradually widening center front panel extending from the yoke to the hem. This panel is covered with horizontal tucks, and it is edged with a wider whitework eyelet embroidery than that used on the yoke. Long, self-fabric ties are stitched on the sides of the front panel at the waist. The long sleeves have caps of the wider whitework embroidery. The wrist openings are edged with the narrow embroidered trim, which is meant to turn back. The yoke across the back of the shoulders is plain, but trimmed with the narrow whitework edging. The center back opening extends eleven inches and fastens with three mother of pearl buttons on the yoke.
