DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a square neckline edged with scalloped whitework embroidery, which is controlled by a drawstring. The scalloped whitework edging is stitched in a V on the bodice front, with the center filled with whitework embroidery and an applied floral decoration. The petals are cut out and filled with buttonhole-stitched lacy patterns (Ayrshire work). The bodice fabric is cut on the bias. The short sleeves are puffed. The openings are trimmed with fine, scalloped whitework edging. A strip of whitework embroidery encircles the waist. The skirt is closely gathered into the waistline. The center back opening extends thirteen inches and fastens with the drawstring at the neckline.
