DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton with a woven rib (dimity). The dress has a wide, round neckline in front and a straight neckline controlled by a drawstring across the back. The front panel of the dress is flared towards the bottom and falls straight from the neckline to the hem. The back of the dress is cut with separate bodice and skirt panels. The bottom of the bodice back has four encased drawstrings. The long sleeves have a cap decorated with a tuck and an edging of scalloped whitework embroidery. The wrist openings are decorated with two narrow tucks and an edging of the whitework embroidery. The center back opening extends thirteen inches and fastens with the drawstrings.
