DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton woven with a narrow twill stripe. The dress has a wide, round neckline in front and a straight neckline in back, controlled by a drawstring. The front of the dress is a single panel falling straight from the neckline to the hem. From the shoulders it narrows to the waist and then flares to the bottom. The front panel is trimmed with an edging of scalloped whitework. Self-fabric ties are stitched at the waist. These are made of a continuous piece of fabric, with the center part hidden behind the front panel. The long sleeves have a decorative cap which has three tucks and an edging of scalloped whitework. The wrist openings are decorated with two tucks. The back of the dress is cut with a separate bodice and skirt. The lower edge of the bodice has four drawstrings. The center back opening extends thirteen inches and fastens with the drawstrings at the neckline and waist.
