DescriptionLarge rectangular handbag covered in ecru linen, with an opening along the long edge at the top, with a metal clasp to hold the bag closed and a curved handle of white plastic. One side is decorated in felt, cording, and plastic, to resemble the store windows and front entrance at G. Fox Department Store in Hartford, Connecticut, where the bag was purchased. The name G. Fox and Company is spelled out in cold-colored letters across the top of the "windows" and the wording is flanked by two "cameos". The interior of the bag is lined with fine white linen, all covered in plastic, with two pockets, one of them zippered, on the side opposite the G. Fox decoration. Four round metal "feet" are at each corner on the bottom of the bag. Purchased by the donor's mother, Faye Smith.
