DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a wide neckline, controlled by a drawstring and edged with scalloped whitework embroidery. The front of the dress is decorated with a panel which widens from the neckline to the hem; it is edged with a band of whitework embroidery with a stylized leaf motif. The top of this panel is left without decoration for about thirteen inches. Below this and continuing to the bottom, the panel is filled with alternating bands of whitework embroidery and diagonal tucks. The bottom of the skirt is edged with a 1 7/8-inch-wide band of scalloped whitework with a stylized floral motif. The long sleeves have decorative caps edged with narrow, scalloped whitework. The wrist openings are gathered on a drawstring and edged with the scalloped whitework.
