DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton with a high, round neckline edged with a ruffle of scalloped whitework embroidery stitched under a binding. The dress has a yoke which is stitched with vertical tucks; at center front is an insertion of whitework. The bottom of the yoke is edged with the scalloped whitework. The skirt is gathered into the bottom of the yoke. The bottom of the skirt is decorated with three series of five tucks. The long sleeves are cut with an upper and lower seam like a coat sleeve. They are set smoothly into the armscye. The wrist openings are bordered with a strip of whitework flanked on each side with the scalloped whitework edging. The center back opening extends 11 1/4 inches and fastens with two small mother of pearl buttons.
