DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a high, round neckline edged with narrow, scalloped whitework embroidery. The dress has a round yoke which is constructed of alternating vertical bands of whitework embroidery and ruched self-fabric. The yoke is edged with scalloped whitework. The center front of the dress has a panel flaring towards the bottom. This panel is constructed of alternating horizontal bands of whitework and ruching; like the yoke, it is edged with scalloped whitework. The bottom of the skirt is decorated to a depth of 9 1/2 inches with a band of vertical tucks over a band of ruching, over a band of whitework, then ruching and another band of vertical tucks. The bottom is edged with two-inch-deep scalloped whitework with eyelets filled with a spoked design. Twenty-inch-long self-fabric ties are stitched at the waistline at the side seams. The center back opening extends eleven inches and fastens with three mother of pearl buttons on the yoke.
