DescriptionMan's vest of chocolate brown silk, with a brocade design of undulating flowers and curled leaves. Thin woven lines of blue shaded with brown form a checkered pattern under the flowers. The vest is cut to produce the fashionable male silhouette, with a puffed chest and pinched waist. The collar is notched and forms a low V-neckline. The center front closes with five self-covered buttons. The waistline is pointed at center front. There is one welted breast pocket on the proper left side and a 4 3/4-inch-wide welted pocket on each lower side. The collar and opening edges are finished with fine silk cording. The back of the vest is dark brown glazed cotton. The fit of the vest adjusts with a buckled strap. The lower front edge of the vest is lined with a strip of dark brown leather. The rest of the vest is lined with plain cotton. The lower center back seam is notched, with curved corners.
