DescriptionBoy's shirt of white cotton, made of a long rectangle folded in half along one side. The seam is stitched selvage-to-selvage on the oppsite side. The neckline is wide and rounded, with a 1/2-inch-wide band that fastens with a single mother of pearl button at the center front opening. Gussets set into the shoulder provide width for the neck opening. The long sleeves taper to the wrist, where they originally fastened with a button (now missing). The sleeves are set smoothly into the armscye. The shoulders are lined with self-fabric between the armscye and the neckline gusset, extending down 6 1/2 inches. The sides of the shirt are vented for about five inches; the top of the vent is stitched with a gusset for ease and stability.
