DescriptionSmall boy's suit consisting of a blouse (.a) and short pants (.b) of white rib-woven cotton, and green and white cotton chambray. The blouse is made of the white rib-woven cotton, with a square collar of green chambray, edged with white piping. The fabric is gathered by smocking, stitched with contrasting thread, into a yoke on either side of the front. The fullness is gathered again onto a self-fabric strip stitched inside the blouse at the waistline. The fabric's fullness is released below this strip, which is 1 3/4 inches above the bottom edge of the blouse. The center front opening fastens with three large mother of pearl buttons, and one small button at the waist. The long, straight sleeves end in turn-back cuffs of the green chambray, edged with white piping. The center back of the blouse is also gathered on the interior waistline strip. Six large mother of pearl buttons are stitched around the bottom edge of the blouse for attaching the pants.
The pants are made of green chambray. They are long-waisted, with a scalloped and piped upper edge. Buttonholes worked along the upper edge correspond to buttons on the blouse. The sides are open for about seven inches. Two small buttons decorate the lower outside leg seam. The lower front crotch seam is open and backed with a flap on the inside in place of a fly.
