DescriptionPhotograph of Chapin Howard's home in Meriden, Connecticut. It is a two story Shingle style house with a side-gabled roof, one chimney on the left side, a covered entry porch with steps, and a gabled dormer above porch. There is an octagonal tower on the right corner of the house.

Chapin Howard (1853-December 22, 1903), was a dry goods merchant and furniture dealer in Meriden, CT, “where the Howard family lived until moving to Grafton, Vermont, in 1902.” Howard was the son of Ormando S. Howard and Lucy Spink. He married Mary Emma Dean on May 26, 1881.

The City of Meriden Plan of Conservation & Development Update, Community Character and Historic Resources (2007) lists the house on the Historic Properties Inventory as located at 2 Washington Heights.
