(p. 115)The First National Bank of Meriden was organized in 1863. "The bank’s first place of business was in a small frame building located near the present brown stone building erected in 1872.
Joel H. Guy was elected its first president. The first cashier was Wolcott A. Hull, who was succeeded, in 1870, by Charles L. Rockwell. John D. Billard succeeded to the presidency upon the death of Mr. Guy in 1881. At Mr. Billard’s death in 1902, Mr. Rockwell, who had been cashier of the bank since 1870, was elected president. Floyd Curtis, formerly teller, was elected cashier."
