DescriptionA brick building with a mansard roof occupies a city lot. The building has pedimented windows on the top floor, brackets beneath the cornice, louvered shuttered, and metal fire escapes and railings. A broken pediment crowns the central bay above the front door. The porch has Corinthian columns and a striped awning. A sign reads: "WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION." Ivy grows on the walls. A low wire fence surrounds the grassy lawn. A shrub grows at the far right. A paved sidewalk is in the foreground, and a paved walkway is to the right of the building.
NotesSubject Note: According to the Hartford City Directory, The Woman's Christian Association operated an Exchange at 49 (later 73) Pearl Street in the 1890s.
