DescriptionBlack and white postcards of scenes from Newgate Prison in East Granby. .1 has three views: the entrance for pisoners, the interior of the mine showing the foot of the ladder and steps to the bunk; .2 shows part of the old nail shop; .3 is the interior of the prison yard; .4 shows the gateway with its keystone with the name of the prison; .5 illustrates the foot of an 80-foot shaft showing a pump and the drain where a prisoner made his excape; .6 is a brid's eye view of the prison; and .7 is a couth view showing the guard tower.
