DescriptionTwo-fold leather wallet with two pockets, one per fold. Two flaps extend horizontally over the top pocket, and the edges of flaps are notched or pinked. Stamped on bottom pocket are the words: "C. PRATT, MAKER, ESSEX, CON." On inside of closing flap on an oval piece of lighter-colored leather on which is inscribed: "W U [?] Co, D.A. Starr, 106 (or 166) Vesey St. N.Y.C." Inscribed on the left side of the oval is: "House, 266 So. 2nd St., Willmsbugh." Strap wraps around wallet, slides through a slit on the back, and then slides into a slit on the front to close it. On the back of the wallet, on one side of the strap, an eagle holding four arrows in one talon and a branch in the other talon is embossed in the leather. The eagle is perched on an oval shape (probably a shield) with a garland of leaves beneath it. The same image is mirrored on the other side of the strap.
