DescriptionWooden ring (.1): flat top of ring with four hearts (like a clover), the two horizontal hearts slightly larger than the two vertical hearts. Crosshatched pattern around the hearts. On each side of the flat top is a star.

Heart (.2): Two carved hearts of the same size connected in the middle by a smaller piece of wood.

Basket (.3): Small basket with handle carved out of a peach pit. Inside of basket is hollow.

Book 1 (.4): Carved wooden book with the initials "HNS" carved into the front cover in red. The binding has 6 horizontal stripes (probably meant to be seven but there's a slight chip out of the bottom of the binding).

Book 2 (.5): Carved wooden book with a plain front and back cover, but the seven stripes on the binding (set of 2, then 3, then 2 stripes) are in red.

Round wooden box (.6a-b): Round wooden box with a lid.

NotesPiece of confederate money soiled and torn and reportedly carried by David Starr is also in the wooden box. Ring and books were carved by David Starr when he was on picket duty on Cedar Mt. in Tennessee during the Civil War.
