NotesR. Ballerstein & Co. was established in 1865 by Raphael Ballerstein in New Haven, Conn. as a Millinery Emporium. They moved locations (in New Haven) a number of times. At one point, R. Ballerstein and Co. was located at 412-426 Main Street, New Haven, Conn. In 1894, the company moved to 372-378 Main Street, New Haven, Conn. where they remained until at least 1898 (and perhaps even later).Status
