DescriptionTwo men on horseback, one of them a Native American, pursue a running buffalo. The Native American holds a bow and arrows in his right hand and holds a third arrow in his mouth. He wears feathers and a headband and a necklace of claws, probably bear claws. The other man wears a hat, coat, shirt, trousers, and boots. He has a mustache. He holds a revolver in his right hand and his horse's reins in his left hand. His horse has a bridle, saddle blanket, and stirrups. The horses gallop across an open grassy plain. A large body of water, probably a lake, and barren mountains are in the background. Rocks, bushes, a flowering cactus, and a rabbit are in the foreground.
