DescriptionConcrete dam across a broad shallow river, probably the Shetucket River. Water flows over the dam at the right and through cement spillways at the left. Above the dam, the water forms a pond or lake. Men stand on a walkway across the left section of the dam. A brick building on the right back may be an electrical power station. A derrick and a wooden shed at the far right may indicate construction activity. A rocky cliff and a tree-covered slope are in the right background. The wooden buildings at the left may also be construction sheds. A tree stump and and a utility pole are in the left foreground. Inscribed on back: "Scotland Dam / Photo by Lloyd R. Robinson." "About 1904."
