DescriptionInfant's gown of white cotton. The bodice has a wide, square neckline edged with bobbin lace. The bodice front is decorated with pintucks; in the center, the pintucks are horizontal. This panel is flanked by vertical pintucks and insertions of eyelet embroidery. The short sleeves have a V-shaped panel, oriented with the apex at the shoulder. The lower corners extend around the sleeve, above the sleeve opening, which is bordered with pintucks and edged with lace. This V-shaped panel is outlined with an insertion of eyelet embroidery, with net insertions in the floral design. The bodice waistline is defined by an insertion of whitework embroidery. The skirt is gathered into this waistband. The bottom of the skirt is bordered with an insertion of whitework flanked by seven rows of pintucks on each side. Bobbin lace edges the hem. The dress opens at center back for a length of 8 3/4 inches. It closes with drawstrings at the waist and neckline.
