DescriptionIndividual studio portraits of two men and a woman wearing a necklace. They are members of the Seaverns family: Charles F.T Seaverns; his wife Mary Bushnell Hillyer Seaverns; and their son, Appleton Seaverns.
NotesSubject Note: Charles F. T. Seaverns was a language teacher at Hartford Public High School. His wife, Mary Bushnell Hillyer Seaverns, was the daughter of Dotha Bushnell Hillyer, who built the Bushnell Memorial in honor of her father, the Reverand Horace Bushnell. The Seaverns family was instrumental in creating the cultural center that The Bushnell Memorial is today. They had a son, Appleton Seaverns. Charles F. T. Seaverns was responsible for hiring William H. Mortensen as managing director of The Bushnell.
