DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a high-waisted bodice decorated with bobbin lace insertion in a V shape. The neckline is wide and square and controlled by drawstrings. The short sleeves are gathered at the shoulder. They have a triangular insert at the top of the arm, edged with lace, that creates an extra puff. The sleeve openings are edged with lace. The waistband is made of a linen tape, overlaid with bobbin lace, creating a casing through which is inserted a pale peach silk ribbon. The skirt is gathered all around the bottom of the waistband. The bottom of the skirt is decorated with an insertion of lace, flanked by rows of narrow linen tape. The bottom of the skirt is edged with lace. The center back opening extends nine inches and closes with drawstrings at the waist and neckline.
