The upper is seamed at center front, center back, and on the lacing side; it is lined with twill-woven white cotton fabric. The sock lining is white leather. A white silk plaited tape with brass tips is laced through fourteen pairs of eyelets on the inside of the ankle. A tongue of the blue silk backs the lacing.
