DescriptionInfant's shirt, constructed of a long rectangle of white cotton, with the narrow ends folded to the center back to create the opening. The side folds are slashed to insert the short sleeves, which are decorated with two narrow tucks and an edging of bobbin lace. The shoulder seams are inserted with bobbin lace. The top edge of the shirt is slashed one inch in from the sleeve seam; this creates front back flaps that fold down over the baby band and results in a wide, square neckline. The flaps and inside shoulder edge are trimmed with bobbin lace.
