DescriptionBoys and young men work at benches in a factory interior. Some wear overalls. Some wear caps. The boys in the foreground appear to work on metal parts. Machinery in the right background has drive wheels and belts. Other machines in the background may be sewing machines and lathes. Pipes run along the ceiling. Electric light fixtures hang from the ceiling.
NotesSubject Note: In the 1910s, Cheney Brothers advertised that they were "the oldest and largest successful silk manufacturing company in America and the largest silk manufacturing company in the world." They produced dress silks of all kinds, silks for upholstery and drapery, velvets, cravats, millinery silks, silks for electrical purposes and silk yarns.
