NotesSubject Note: The Sixteenth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry was organized in Hartford on August 24, 1862. They took part in the Battles of Antietam and Fredericksburg and numerous other engagements. On April 20, 1864, most of the regiment surrendered and were taken captive at Plymouth, North Carolina. They remained prisoners of war until Marcdh 1865. The photographer Daniel S. Camp was a member of the regiment.Status
