DescriptionMan in a suit, vest and hat sits in an office interior. He has a mustache. A large desk and a swivel chair are in the foreground. Two additional desks or tables and a bookcase or cabinet that appears to contain bundles of envelopes are on the back wall. A wicker wastebasket is at the right. A calendar that reads: "German American / Insurance Co." is on the wall. The back wall is vertically boarded. The right wall is brick. Pipes, possibly heating pipes, run along the base of the wall below the windows.
NotesSubject Note: In 1898, D. Baldwin Pierson was a clerk at the United States Stamped Envelope Agency at 1 South Ann Street. He was born in 1861 and died in 1913.
