DescriptionStout middle-aged man sits in a swivel chair in an office interior. He has a mustache and wears a suit. A roll-top desk behind him is covered with papers, some in pigeonholes. A pair of glasses and a bouquet of flowers in a glass vase are on the desk. A wicker wastebasket full of trash is beneath the desk. A marble fireplace with a brass fender, andirons, poker and tongs, is at the left. Figurines, a clock, a pitcher and other items are on the mantle. Framed prints and photographs hang on the walls, which are covered with wallpaper in two different patterns: fleurs-de-lis above and a floral pattern below. The carpet has an oriental pattern. Electric light bulbs are in ceiling fixtures.
