A barrel is on a concrete abutment at the left. Freight cars are on railroad tracks on the embankment. In the left background is the Pleasant Street freight yard and depot. Piles of lumber, stone, construction equipment and utility poles are visible. The building with a smokestack in the right background is the old Hartford Water Works. Riverside Park is beyond.
