DescriptionParade float on the back of a truck. A sign reads: "The Bride Brook wedding / East Lyme, Conn. / The characters are direct descendants of / the original wedding party 1646." Crowds of men, women, and children line the sidewalks on both sides of the float. Part of a marching band in uniform is visible in the background. Some musicians play trombones.

NotesSubject Note: Hartford celebrated the three hundredth anniversary of the founding of Connecticut with a parade on October 12, 1935. It included 20,000 marchers, 105 floats, twelve large divisions, thirty bands, over 500 separate organizations and twenty national groups. It was watched by 400,000 people and took three hours to pass by.
