DescriptionGroup of policemen in uniform march down Main Street in ranks. Uniforms include helmets, belts, badges and gloves. The man with the mustache in the lead is identified as Captain Farrell. Men stand and sit on ledges on the second empire style Aetna Life Insurance Company building. The gothic revival building in the right background is the Wadsworth Atheneum. Some windows have striped awnings. Utility poles and wires line the street. Automobiles are parked by the curb. Inscribed on back: "Parade of Police May 14, 1912 / Captn Farrell in lead / courant."
NotesSubject Note: Captain Farrell is probably Garrett J. Farrell, who later became chief of police.
