DescriptionCarved stone lion on a plinth. The facade of the Phoenix National Bank is on the left. Several men stand on the sidewalk that appears to be inset with glass blocks. A second stone lion is in the background.
NotesSubject Note: On June 20, 1912, the Hartford Courant reported that the Street Board had ordered the Phoenix Bank to remove the stone lions in front of its building "within the week" because they were encroaching on the legally established street line on Main Street. This photograph appeared in the paper on July 16th.
