DescriptionThree men operate a large puppet in the shape of dragon. Some of the men appear to wear sneakers or tennis shoes. The puppet appears to be constructed of papier-mache and cloth. Other men, who appear to be Chinese, walk behind the dragon. Some push and pull a small cart. A bicycle is behind them. A brick industrial building is in the background.
NotesSubject Note: Hartford celebrated the 300th anniversary of the founding of Connecticut with a parade on October 12, 1935. It included 20,000 marchers, 105 floats, twelve large divisions, thirty bands, over 500 separate organizations and 20 national groups. It was watched by 400,000 people and took three hours to pass by.
