DescriptionInfant's dress of fine white cotton, stitched across the front between the shoulders with groups of pintucks alternating with fine whitework embroidery. The neckline is high and round and is edged with narrow bobbin lace. The sleeves are short and puffed; they are decorated with three rows of pintucks and are edged around the opening with bobbin lace. The dress falls straight to the hem, which is embroidered and scalloped. Three more rows of pintucks circle the bottom of the skirt, and at the lower center front there is more of the delicate whitework embroidery. The back of the dress has larger tucks between the shoulders. The center back opening is six inches long and fastens with three mother of pearl buttons.
