DescriptionThree men are in a boat on a pond surrounded by cattails and reeds. One of the hunters, who wears a shirt and trousers with suspenders, is aiming a gun at three ducks who are flying away. His hat and coat are in the boat. Another man, who has a beard, is wearing a beaked cap and a jacket and holds a gun. A third man, with sideburns, is wearing a vest, shirt, and striped trousers. He holds an oar or paddle. A dog and a coil of rope are in the front of the boat. A fourth man stands on the shore in the left foreground. He wears a cap, jacket, and high boots and carries a gun, shot pouch, and a gamebag. He stoops to help a second dog out of the water. The dog holds a dead duck in his mouth. A second dead duck is on the ground in the foreground. Trees in the background include pollard willows.
