DescriptionFive story brick commercial building. Lettering on building reads: "1764 Connecticut Courant 1880." A sign stenciled on the shop window reads: The Courant / established 1764 / Daily - Semi - weekly." A sign on the roof near a flagpole reads: "The Courant." Most windows have awnings. Signs read: "68 / Clapp / & / Treat / Hardware" "C.M. Gaines / Printing / of / all kinds" "Otis Elevator Co." Merchandise, including children's sleds, is displayed on the sidewalk at the right. A handcart is nearby. A fire hydrant is on the sidewalk at the left. At the far left, the Princess Theatre appears to be undergoing demolition. Scaffolding is visible within the entrance and rubble is in the cobblestone street. Two horse-drawn wagons are in the street.
