DescriptionSmall boy's two-piece suit, consisting of a skirt and jacket of white ribbed cotton, with eyelet-embroidered trim. The jacket has a rounded, cut-away front opening, which is trimmed with a 1 3/4-inch-wide band of eyelet embroidery, continuing along the bottom edge. The coat sleeves are trimmed with the eyelet at the back of the wrist. The neckline is high and round and bound with plain white cotton. The back of the jacket is vented at the side seams and at the side back seams. The skirt is box-pleated into the waistband. The top of each box pleat is ornamented with a strip of white eyelet embroidery, reaching to the hem stitching. The skirt buttons up the center back; the buttons are hidden under a fold of the skirt fabric, except at the waistband. A separate band stitched with buttonholes is stitched inside the waistband; this would have fastened to the shirt, which is no longer extant.
