NotesSubject Note: According to Connecticut Place Names, Horatio and Rodney Hanks established the first silk mill in America on Hanks Hill, Mansfield in 1810. The original building, measuring 12 x 13 feet, is now in the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan.
