DescriptionA boy wearing a cap and knickers uses tongs to hold a piece of iron on an anvil. The anvil is chained to a wooden pedestal. A man with a beard and mustache and wearing an apron uses a hammer to strike the iron bar. A brick forge is in the background. An iron stove with a long stovepipe is at the left. Horseshoes and other ironwork are piled on the floor and hang from walls and rafters. Two wagon wheels are at the right. A hat and jacket hang near a window. May be located in Connecticut.
