DescriptionOffice interior. A man in a suit and cap stands at a desk writing in a ledger with a steel pen. A fruit basket full of papers, a wooden box and several cardboard boxes are under the desk. A milk box is upside down nearby. Rubber stamps are above the desk at the left. Several calendars are on the brick wall at the left. A calendar for January 1916 is inscribed "Made with / Bakers / Coconut.". A framed poster for "Japanese Soap / Fisk Manufacturing Co. / Springfield, Mass" and an electric lamp are nearby. A safe with "MacNeale and Urban / Patent" on the door stands open. A young woman sits at a desk at the right typing on a typewriter. An ink pad, rubber stamps, glass paperweights and books are on her desk. Additional books are on shelves at the right. Theatrical posters and broadsides are visible outside the window. One reads in part: "Â… Palace / Â…week of Jan. 10 / Fun Wharf / Baboons." Another advertises a production of Charleys Aunt at Polis.
