DescriptionA man wearing a cap, coat, and gloves, with a rug over his lap, is seated in a sleigh drawn by a horse. In the background is a frame commercial building with a sign that reads: "G.F. Cowles / Post Office / Canton, Conn. / General / Store." Two men stand on the porch. Other buildings appear to be a house and barns. The road and the steep rocky hillside in the background are covered with snow. Deep piles of snow are in front of the store. Inscribed on back: "Canton / Winter Snow of 1923." "(Rt. 44) / Now is a motor cycle shop and book / store (Aug. 1978)."
