DescriptionFour-story brick commercial building with a signs that read: "Lee, Butler & Co. / Medicines, Paints, Oils &c." "Lee, Sisson & Co." A sign on the awning reads: "259 Drugs & Medicines 259." A group of men in long white coats stand in front of the store. A horse-drawn carriage is in the street. Two barrels are on the sidewalk. An alley on the right is paved with cobblestones. Broadsides are posted on the wall of the brick building at far right. At far left a frame building with a tall brick is separated from the drugstore by a wooden gate.
NotesDate Note: Lee, Butler & Co. appears in the Hartford city directory until 1858. However, the partners at this date were William T. Butler and Thomas Sisson. Lee, Sisson & Co. first appears in the directory in 1859.
