DescriptionLarge four-story frame hotel building with porches, balconies, a balustrade on the roofline and a cupola on the roof. Signs read: "American Hotel." Other signs are out of focus. Additional businesses, some with awnings, are in a brick addition at the right. An open trolley car is on American Row. A horse-drawn carriage is on State Street. Men, boys, women and a girl walk on the sidewalks. Two white umbrellas are to the left. Utility poles (and telegraph poles?) line the streets. An iron fence is at the right.
