DescriptionThree men stand in the middle of State Street near a curve in the trolley tracks. A man holding what appears to be a rake appears to be African American. He wears a cap and jacket. Commercial buildings line the street in the background. A sign reads: "Elihu Geers Sons / City Directory." Other businesses have awnings. One building has a small balcony above the entrance. At the far right is a small building with a pediment and a classical portico.
NotesSubject Note: Elihu Geers Sons, the printers responsible for the Hartford City Directories, were located at 16 State Street.
