DescriptionMolded rubber overshoes, styled with an oval toe, peaked throatline, and low heel. Faux seams are molded into the shoes. The bottoms are molded with a diamond grid tread pattern and "WALES / GOODYEAR" on the waist of the sole. The rubber is lined with cream-colored knitted cotton in the upper, and woven cotton in the sock lining. The heel is hollow, so that the inside of the shoe dips in the back, rather than being flat like a real shoe.
NotesHistorical Note: These miniature shoes were made by Goodyear Company in Naugatuck, Connecticut as souvenirs for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair.
