DescriptionConstruction site with houses in various stages of completion. Wooden sheds, evidently used as offices by the construction company, face a road with trolley tracks and utility poles. A sign on the shed reads: "T.C. Desmond Company / Engineers and / Contractors / New York City." A street sign on a pole reads: "New Britain Av." A sign below it reads "No Admittance to Field /without Permit / T.C.Desmond Co." Additional signs read: "No Smoking" "Loitering / Prohibited" "Material Checker." An open automobile is parked beside the road. A barrel and a lantern stand at the edge of the road. Near the shed is a horse-drawn wagon containing sacks. Three men work near a pile of dirt and lumber at far right.
