DescriptionTwo men sit at large desks in a room with high ceilings. The young man at the left seated in a bentwood chair is Milton Bacharach. The bearded man in the swivel chair at the right is Roger Welles III. A calendar hangs above Welles's desk and a newspaper lies on it. A bookcase, presumably containing law books, is at the far right. A small Oriental rug is on the floor. Gas lighting fixtures hang from the ceiling and protrude from the walls. Heating [?] pipes run along the back wall beneath the windows.
NotesSubject Note: Milton Bacharach is listed as a student (at Yale Law School) in 1900. In 1901, he was working in Roger Welles's law office. In 1902, he is listed as an attorney and counselor at law in room 83, 902 Main Street (the Sage-Allen building). Bacharach appears in Hartford Jews, 1659-1970.
